“given” 一詞常見的用法有以下二種：

given 用在假設語氣的句子中，意指「若有…」或「假設…」。

注意句子主詞和 given 那一句的主詞保持一致。

意思等同於： If the orchids are given the right care, the orchids will give a long-lasting flower display.

意思等同於： If I am given a second chance, I won’t make the same mistakes.

「given + N」或「given that + S + V」意指「考慮到…；有鑒於…」

例句：有鑑於農曆新年即將到來，這裡有些送禮的好點子。

例句：考慮到他缺乏經驗，他的表現已經很不錯了。
